Hon. Mbazulike Iloka Celebrates Holy Trinity CWO August Meeting In Grand Style

The 2026 Holy Trinity Catholic Women Organisation (CWO) August Meeting was celebrated in grand style at the parish hall of Holy Trinity Parish, Okpuno-Uzodike, Uruagu, Nnewi, Anambra State, as Hon. Mbazulike Iloka (Mba-Mba) hosted members of the organisation with food, drinks, and cash donations.

Hon. Iloka said the gesture was his way of appreciating the women for their unwavering commitment, dedication, and service to God and the Church. He described women as indispensable partners in the growth of the Church, noting that they continually demonstrate sincere devotion and steadfast love in ensuring the progress of their parishes.

He praised mothers for their invaluable service to humanity, describing them as "Nneka" (Mother is Supreme).

Also present at the event was Arc. Paul Chukwukwemeka Ileka (Solid Base), the APGA candidate for the Nnewi North Constituency in the 2027 Anambra State House of Assembly election. He commended the Holy Trinity CWO for their dedication to God and humanity. He also expressed appreciation to the Parish Priest, Fr. Placid Udechukwu, and made a financial donation to support the parish.

The two-day August Meeting, which began on July 31 and ended on August 1, 2026, opened with prayers and praise led by the Parish Priest.

Activities during the programme included health talks, free medical checks such as blood pressure and blood sugar tests conducted by doctors and nurses, lectures on peace and love in the family, testimonies, visits to sick members in their homes and hospitals with gifts, cake cutting, thanksgiving, donations, and a love feast.

Speaking to Vintage Newspaper, the CWO Chairlady, Mrs. Cecilia Agupusi, described the event as highly successful. She thanked the planning committee, led by Mrs. Theresa Ngozi Okeke, for ensuring the smooth organisation of the programme.

Mrs. Agupusi explained that the annual August Meeting provides an opportunity for women to come together, strengthen their faith, care for one another, and reach out to members who have become inactive in Church activities. She stressed the importance of hope in Jesus Christ, love, and prayer within families, adding that proceeds from the meeting would be used to support parish projects.

Chairperson of the Planning Committee, Mrs. Theresa Okeke, said the meeting was designed to strengthen the spiritual lives of women through the Word of God. According to her, many participants return home spiritually renewed, with numerous testimonies recorded after each annual conference. She expressed appreciation to Hon. Iloka for his generous support to the parish, particularly the CWO, and prayed for God's continued blessings upon him.

In his remarks, the Parish Priest,  Fr. Placid Udechukwu, expressed profound gratitude to Hon. Iloka for his consistent support to the Church. He also thanked members of the Parish Pastoral Council for their financial contributions towards the success of the August Meeting. The priest commended the women for their dedication and numerous contributions to the growth of the parish and prayed for God's blessings upon them.

Former CWO Chairlady, Mrs. Juliana Iloka, also thanked the women for their commitment to serving God and humanity. She encouraged Christians to continue trusting in God for good health, peace, and progress.

Mrs. Chinaelo Nwachukwu expressed joy over the success of this year's August Meeting and thanked Hon. Iloka for fulfilling the promise he made during the parish's Mother's Sunday celebration. She described him as a man with a compassionate heart who has consistently demonstrated love for the Church.

Speaking with journalists after the event, Hon. Iloka thanked God for the successful celebration and pledged to continue supporting projects in the parish. He also expressed his appreciation to Rev. Fr. Udechukwu for his fatherly leadership and for treating all parishioners as members of one family.
